HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE

NOT A DULL MOMENT. A meritorious programme is being presented at His Majesty’s Theatre this week, the whole of the first halt' being taken up by Ye Old Time Nigger Minstrels, the various items being excellent. Ronnie Whelan in “Barn Bainy Shore,” a Charleston piece, is at his best, and George Day’s good voice is heard to advantage. The comedy side is supplied by Ward Lear and Jack Kearns, and Will Kenny and John RoTke were applauded for their contributions. Linn Smith’s jazz band render the latest popular numbers. This act is a great change from the usual variety turns. The second half introduces George Ward and his Snapshots Revue Company. The offering is “Out West,” a screaming farce with George Ward (Little Hermie) and Bert La Blanc (Abe Cohen) as the chief fun makers. The musical items are particularly pleasing, William Beresford’s songs being greatly appreciated by the audience. Adelaide Taylor can always be relied on for tuneful numbers, and this week she is at her best. Daisy Yates is also good, especially in her dance with York© Gray. Lila Marion and Carlton Chase are well to the fore vocally, Miss Marion’s beautiful voice being a feature of the show. Then there are the “Snapshot Six,” who are great favourites. The orchestral music is well chosen and adds to the enjoyment of the evening’s entertainment.
