CITRUS FRUIT INDUSTRY
COMPETITION BY ITALY DEPUTATION TO MINISTER. Per Press Association. TAtIRANGA, May 25. The Hon. 0. J. Hawken, Minister for Agriculture, arrived here at noon from Rotorua. He was met on arrival by Mr C, E. Macmillan, M.P., and others. This afternoon he received deputations from farmers on several matters of importance to the district, particularly with a view of assisting the citrus fruit industry, which is seriously menaced by the importation ot Italian lemons. The Minister leaves in the morning ior Whakatane.
