A LETTER OF THANKS

HELP GIVEN SCOTTISH BAND The following letter was written to Captain R. H. Nimmo, president of the Wellington Caledonian Society, by Captain R. B. Anderson, of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders’ Band:— “I should like to take this opportunity, before our departure to-mor-row, of thanking you. as president, and the members of the Wellington Caledonian Society, for the wonderful hospitality you have extended to us all during our visit to this city. “We all remember that you and your society were tho first to welcome us over six months ago. You made us feel at home before we landed, and .wherever we have been in New Zealand we have anvajs nad the feeling that we were amongst friends. “I should he glad if you would convey to the Wellington Pipe Band oui very warm thanks for the services they have tendered to ns on both occasions, and please assure them that we deeply appreciate the very real tribute they have paid us. “We are all very sad at the thought of our imminent departure, and we shall carry away with us the very happiest recollections of the Caledonian Societies o-f New Zealand.”
