FIRE AT EASTBOURNE

BRIGADE’S SMART SAVE The capability of the Eastbourne Fire Brigade to render service was demonstrated yesterday when it turned out smartly at noon in response to a call to a private house in Tuatora street, owned by Mrs Burkett, of Newtown. The occupiers, who had only recently taken possession, were out for the day, and on entrance being forced the fire was discovered in a box of rubbish and had secured a good hold on the wall of tbe kitchen. Tljis was promptly extinguished and little damage was done, but a delay of a few minutes would probably have resulted in the loss of the whole building-
