MANUKA LEAVES MELBOURNE. The Union Company have been advised that the passenger steamer Manuka left Melbourne at 2 P*m. on Saturday lor Wellington, where she is due on Thursday. She is scheduled to clear here at 3 u.m. on Friday lor Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff, and Melbourne. RUAPEHU ARRIVES TO-DAY. According to a wireless message rei ceived by the New Zealand Shipping I Company the master of the liner Ruapehu expects the vessel to arrive in the stream at 8.30 a.m. to-day. After pratique has been granted the Ruapehu berths at the King's wharf about U o'clock to land Jier passengers She leaves Wellington again later in tho day for Dunedin, where she commences discharge. city of BOMBAY ARRIVES. An arrival at Auckland yesterday was the A. and A. Line steamer City of Bombay from New York, with cargo for discharge at Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is expected to clear Auckland on Thursday for Napier and Wellington, and is due here about Juno 2nd. MAHANA WITH IMMIGRANTS. On arrival at Auckland from Liverpool on Friday evening tho Shaw, Savill and Albion Co/s steamer Mahana anchored in the stream and berthed the following day. For her recent voyage the Mahana loaded at Glasgow and Liverpool, and after embarking her passengers at the last-named port, sailed for Now Zealand on April 18th. Fo* the first four days at sea the steamer battled against ‘ strong westerly gales and high head seas, but although waves frequently broke on board and flooded the decks no damage was done, the steamer being very buoyant. After the storm area had been passed tho Mahan* experienced more .favourable conditions and arrived at Colon on April 29th. She passed through the Panama Canal and sailed from Balboa on the same day. A fine weather run was made across the Pacific until May 15th, when fresh easterly winds and. rough seas were encountered. Off Ihe coast foggy weather caused the steamer's speed to be reduced to dead slaw. From Auckland the Mahana is to proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharge, and is due here on Monday next. The Mahana is commanded bjr Captain W.
