FAIR PRICES

FOR NEW ZEAI AND APPLES GROWERS MORE HOPEFUL. Fruit growers are now feeling more hopeful of the London market. The High Commissioner’s cablegram shows that latest arrivals of apples have sold ot quite fair prices, from 11s to 15s, but as no quantities are given they will have to wait and see just how the fruit was disposed of. Quite a number of vessels have arrived in the last few days, but at present are discharging only slowly, and the market is not Being taxed. It is hard to tell what may happen in the future, but shippers think that pessimism is unwarranted because the market mav as easily go one way as the other. Shipments from New Zealand now have ceased.
