MOTOR ACCIDENTS
* SERIES IN MANAWATU NO SERIOUS INJURIES. Per Press Association. PALMERSTON N., May 24. A number od motor accidents, none attended with serious consequences, occurred in the Ma-nawatu district during the week-end. A motor-’bwi conveying a football team back from Woodville to Palmerston North on Saturday night collided with a car near Ashhurat. The ’bus left the load and oraslieci head first into a tree, and the shock caused the seats to break away. The injuries to the players were confined to cuts and bruises, but the ’bus was badly damaged. A lady cyclist was knocked down by a car on the Foxton line on Saturday night, but escaped with a shaking. Yesterday afternoon a five-seater motor-car capsized near Tokomarii through giving too much room to another vehicle. The five occupants escaped serious injury, but the car was rather badly damaged. On Saturday night, two cars collided head-on on the Awapuni Bridge, near Palmerston Noith. One was able to oroceec, but the other, in backing away, went into a ditch, and had to be abandoned for the time being. Yesterday evening a car driven by Mrs Langdon, of Rangiwahia, left the road and fell on its side between Ashhurst and Palmerston North, Of the seven occupants, two children, Kathleen Williams, ! of Palmerston North, and Martin Langdon, were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The boy had several stitches put into four facial cuts caused by the glass of the windscreen. The other occupants suffered cuts, bruises, and a shaking. At the time of the accident another car was approaching with the lights full on. Mrs Langdon dimmed her lights and was about to stop when her car went over the bank.
