EX-SOLDIERS ENTERTAINED

Members of the Commercial Travel lers Male Voice Choir mustered full strength at the Red Cross Home, Hobson street, on Sunday afternoon to render a programme of music to the ex-soldier patients convalescing there. Treacher, bass. Two duets were rendered fby Messrs E. Pegg and W. Goudie. jOne of these, included “Two Beggars," | realised the sum of £1 10s, thrown at ! the feet of the beggars as they sang. The amount was handed to the matron towards securing a lounge chair for the home. At the conclusion of the programme afternoon tea was served the visitors by the staff. Mr Hugh Tv 7 right, president, and Mr Temple White, conducjtor of the choir, thanked the matron and staff for their hospitality. Miss I Mcßae, the matron, spoke of the j great pleasure afforded all present j through the visit. | Mr Brio Froggatt suitably played | the accompaniments. The Red Cross acknowledges th'o service rendered by the choir, which means a great deal to the patients.
