Claims made by the New Zealand Seamen’s Federation are still being considered by a conference of shipowners and federation representatives. No nnnouncment has yet been made as to the result of the negotiations. Drivers’ unions affiliated to the New Zeeland Drivers’ Federation are taking n *>allot on the question of secession from the Now Zealand Alliance of Labour. At the federation conference recently a motion favouring secession was carried, but it was decided to submit the question to an individual vote. Mr W. K Hill and Mr A. F. Wilson, of Wellington, have been visiting Auckland. Colonel A. A. Corrigan returned from ilie South Island on Saturday morning.
