PURDY AND JAMITO
TO-NIGHT AX THE TOWN HAM.. The principal contest at to-night’s boxing tournament promises to provide a very fine exhibition, from the point of view of fast, vigorous attack and clever defence. On tbe one hand, Jamito’s great asset has always been his ability to attack in every round, while Purdy is probably the fastest exponent New Zealand has produced.
boxing tournament promises to provide a very fine exhibition, from the point of view of fast, vigorous attack and clever defence. On tbe one hand, Jamito’s great asset has always been his ability to attack in every round, while Purdy is probably the fastest exponent New Zealand has produced. To-night should see, also, some exceptionally good amateur bouts. Two newcomers in Mercer and P&pps are boxers of the vigorous type, and they are likely to prove popular. Despite the exceptionally heavy booking, some tickets are still available up to 4 this afternoon. Indications arc that will have a poor chance of obtaining a seat.
