Awarua— Nil. TOFUA AT SUVA. The Union Company have been advised by cable that the Island steamer Tofua arrived at Suva at 9.35 a.m. on Wednesday from Auckland, and sails tonight for Tonga and Samoa. KAITOKE TO~LOAD. ' The Union that the steamer Kaitoke loads at Sydney and leaves on May 18th for Suva and Auckland. HAURAKI FOR PACIFIC COAST. The Union Company advise that the transpacific cargo steamer Hauraki leaves Sydney on Tuesday for Vancouver and San Francisco. She is to load at both ports at the end of May for Auckland, Wellington, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. MARAMA FOR SYDNEY. The Union Company's intercolonial passenger steamer Marama is scheduled to leave Wellington at 3 o'clock this afternoon for Sydney, where she is due on Tuesday next. MAHIA DELAYED. Owing to bad weather the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's steamer Mahia has been delayed at Wanganui and now leaves to-morrow for Picton and Wellington. She is due here on Wednesday next, and sails again on May 10th for Lyttelton, where she completes loading and clears finally on May 14th for London, via Monte Video and Teneriffe. MATAKANA'S PROGRAMME. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company advise that the steamer Matakana leaves Lyttelton on Monday for Dunedin to complete discharge of her Liverpool cargo. She afterwards loads for Home at Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, Gisborne, and Wellington, and is due here on May 19th, sailing finally from this port on May 25th for London, via Monte Video and Teneriffe. PORT CURTIS DUE TO-DAY. To continue her discharge of New York cargo, the C. and D. Line advise that the steamer Port Curtis is due at Wellington to-day from Gisborne. She leaves again on Monday for New Plymouth, thence Lyttelton, and Dunedin, to complete discharge. THE PORT NICHOLSON. The C. and D. Line advise that the steamer Port Niclioleon, which left Launceston on Tuesday evening for Wanganui, is now making Wellington her first port of call, and is due here tomorrow After lifting a quantity of cargo here, she leaves on Wednesday for Wanganui, thence Hicks Bay, Gisborne, Waikokopu, Napier, and back to Wellington to complete loading. She returns here on May 20th, and sails finally from Wellington on May 22nd for London, via Panama. THE CANADIAN - MILLER. The Canadian Government Line advise* that the steamer Canadian Miller leaves Lyttelton on Monday for Timaru and Dunedin, and thcnco Wellington. She is due hero on May Bth, and sails the same day for Auckland, where she completes loading, and finally clears on May llth for New York, Boston, and Montreal. KAIKOURA SAILS TO-DAY. Loaded with Dominion produce, the N.Z. Shipping Company's steamer Kaikoura is scheduled to leave Wellington at dayhreuk this morning for Hull and London, via Cape Horn.

COASTAL MOVEMENTS. The Kaimai, which is bar-bound at Greymouth, is expected to clear there to-day for Miramar and Wellington. The Kahika, from Dunedin, via Oamaru and Timaru, is due here to-morrow, and sails the same day for Napier and Gisborne. The Kaimanawa, with cement from Portland, is due at Wellington on Sunday from New Plymouth. The Kamo returns hero on Sunday from Lyttelton, and leaves on Monday for Dunedin and Bluff. The Karori, which is bar-bound at Greymouth, is expected to clear there to-day for Westport., where 6he completes loading for Wellington. The Katoa. from Auckland, arrives hero on Sunday, and sails on Monday for Lyttelton, Dunedin, Oamnru, and Timaru.

The Kauri leaves Wellington to-mot-row for Lyttelton, where she loads on Monday for Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland. The Komata clears Westport to-mor-row for Wellington, and is due here on Sunday.

The Kurow, from southern ports, arrives at Wellington to-morrow, and sails the same day for Auckland direct. The Waipahi, due here on Sunday from Dunedin, via ports, sails on Monday for New Plymouth and Auckland. The Wingatui loads at Bluff early next week, thence Dunedin, Timaru. and Lyttelton for Wellington and Auckland. The Kiwitea leaves Wellington early next week for Picton, where she loads for Auckland. SHIPS FOR THE SOVIET. Russia is anxious to place orders for 30,000 to 40,000 tons of new shipping. According to the Berlin "Borsenzeitung," German shipbuilding circles are not unhopeful that, with the help of the 300 million marks credit whicn it lu proposed to place, at Russia's disposal, provided an arrangement can bo come to with the German banks concerning the rate of interest, a considerable share of these orders may be placed with German yards, as well as extensive contracts for repairs. The new tonnage for which Russia is negotiating is said to comprise a number of small craft down to boats of only 1000 tons, but also includes ono steamship of 8000 tons and another of 10,000 tons. .SURREY MEETS BAD WEATHER. Information has been received at Auckland that the Federal Line steamer Surrey, which cleured Wellington for Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, Avonmouth ancl London, on March 26th, encountered boisterous weather when nearing Panama, and that five tons of tallow were jettisoned.
