DE LUXE THEATRE

“THU PONY EXPRESS.”

Commeneing to-night at the Theatre De Luxe is “The Pony Express,” one of the most wonderful Western dramas ever filmed.

Here is a picture hailed as greater than “The Covered "Wagon” by the critics. It is an epic of the early West done in the Paramount way. Several epics of the pioneering days of the West have been given to the screen by Paramount, stories that mingle fiction with fact, of hardships conquered and tracts won. These have a particular appeal to the pioneer spirit of nil people. Such pictures were “The Covered Wagon,” “The Thundering Herd,” “North of 36.” Yet none of them have been as vital in theme, as strong in story and cast, or as stirring as “The Pony Express.” “The Pony Express” is a drama with thrills and heart tugs with an historical basis that will win approval everywhere. Its broad, vital theme has been painted on the screen by that master of screen plays, James Cruzo. Cruz© has won again, has given the screen another picture that will mark a milestone in its progress. The cast is exceptional, headed hy such artists as Betty Compson, Ricardo Cortez. Wallace Beery and Ernest Torrence. A gigantic supporting programme is also presented, including a musical programme of great beauty. The box plans are now open at the Bristol Piano Co., Aitken’s Book Arcade, or ring theatre, ’phone 23-080. A matinee will Be held on Saturday next at 2.30.
