Dear Fairiel, _ . T had a lovely Easter. On Good Friday we went on the Makara road to Johnsonville and on the way we passed two cars. We got past the first car all right, but the second car was on a bend, so dad steered into the bank and the other man steered into the fence', and one wheel went through the fence! It so happened that dad had banged the buffer on the house when he wns backing recently and bent it, and when he knocked the bank it straightened it, so luck was with us after all. Your loving Elf.—Bill. Bill Hutcheson, Lower' Hutt. Dear Fairiel, I like reading the Fairy Ring. I am going to try to get something for the birthday number. I like the competition this week, as you will see. Last week I went to the Zoo, and the monkeys were funny. I saw the lions, sealions, and penguins being fed. From your Elf.'- —Ronald. - Ronala Norgate, Brooklyn. Dear Fairiel, Our neighbour had a stoat down in his fowlhouse this morning and his girl came up here to see if one of my brothers would go down and shoot it. Our gun was ajvay at the time, -so two of my brothers and myself went down to see if we could kill it with sticks. When we got there it' had six of their hens and one of their white rabbits. We saw its nose sticking out from under the shed, but it ran under. In the end it got away and we did not see it any more. —Yours truly, Fred. Fred Berry, Pongaroa. Dear Fairiel, I am very sorry I was not able write to you last week. I was away at Easter every day. On Mopday I went to Wilton’s Bush. Wo left about half-past ten, and readied there at quarter to twelve. We had dinner and went for a walk. We had our photo taken, on a large tree with onr legs danglingAs I was walking roundel saw many different kinds of ferns and trees. 1 also noticed the supplejack, twining round the giant trees. After a good roam round, we had tea. Then we had a few games of blind man’s buff, tip the finger, and bar-ber-door. After a good day, we started off for home. —Your loving Fairy, Vera. . Vera Barringer, Kilbirnie.,
