MINISTER FOR LANDS
VISIT TO WEST COAST Per Press Association. WESTPORT, April 19. The Hon. A. D. McLeod, Minister for Lands, visited ICaramea and unveiled the memorial gates for fallen soldiers, and also received numerous deputations. The Minister returned to Westport this evening, and was accorded a civic erception in. the Town Hall by the Mayor (Mr Menzie). Mr H. E. Holland, M.P. for the Buller electorate, Mr J. H. Powell, chairman of the •County Council; Mr Parker, president of the Buller Progress League, also spoke. Deputations were received concerning the Westport-Grey mouth coastal road, Buller Gorge railway, river erosion, freeholding the colliery reserve leases, motor vehicle traffic, and other matters, to all of which representations the Minister promised serious consideration.
