SAILORS’ FRIEND SOCIETY

The bi-weekly concerts for seafarers at the Sailors’ Friend Society are a great attraction. That given on Tuesday by Mr W. Bock proved a great success, and was filled with encores. The performers were: Mesdames Murray, Johnstone, and Carr, Miss M. Bock, and Messrs Oswin, Barnes, Johnstone, Bock, Smith, Johnson. The Mesdames Fordham, Murray, and Johnstone, and Mrs M. Bock were at the piano. “Just by the Way” was the title of Mr. J. Moore’s temperance chat. Men veto urged to sign the pledge and they did. The competitions were happy and oduca-tionai; the prizes came from the host and went to the Corinthic and Argyllshire. ’
