DR. JOHN R. MOTT'S VISIT

WELLINGTON ARRANGEMENTS Dr. John It. Mott comes to Wellngton on Wednesday next under the auspices of the International Missionary Council, the World’s Student Christian Federation, and the World’s Alliance of the Y.M.C.A.’s. The representatives of these organisations have combined their forces, and preparations for liis visit have been carefully planned. He comes at the zenith of liis powers, after ‘‘additional study and reflection” (to quote his own words), “based upon my recent invaluable experiences in the conferences I have been conducting with the leaders in Japan, Korea, China, and Philippines, the Straits Settlement, and the Dutch East Indies.”

Dr. Mott opens his meetings in the Capital City where on account of the limited time at his disposal he can only spend three days. In that short, period lie is to address students and professors at Victoria College and the Training College. He conducts a further meeting at Taranaki Methodist Church. Admission to these will lie by ticket, obtainable from the organisations interested. On Thursday he addresses a luncheon of business and professional men at Kirkcaldie and Stains’s rooms, and on Friday meets the Y.M.C.A. directors and officials in conference at lunch. On that day also he addresses a meeting of the clergy of the city. Sandwiched in between these meetings are a group of conferences and consultations with those interested in his world-wide plans. His Worship .the Mayor has consented to arrange a civic reception to this distinguished Christian statesman on Wednesday next at noon, when citizens are desired to assemble in the Council Chamber at the Town Hall to do honour to one who has devoted a lifetime to students in the universities of every civilised land.
