MOTOR-CAR IN RIVER

MISHAP AT HAYWARDS. A motor-car driven by Air Frederick Clifford, of Wellington, ran off the Gorge road between the Stokes Valley road and the railway bridge at Haywards at 7.30 on Friday night, and plunged into the river. The driver managed, with the assistance of a passer-by, to reach the bank, unhurt except for scratches and cuts about the face from the broken windscreen.
