KING’S THEATRE

“SO THIS IS MARRIAGE.” The MetroGoldwyu picture, “So Thie is Marriage,” which is now at the King’s Theatre, is a story of ultramodern marriage from the jieu of Carey Wilson, whose main characters are portrayed by Eleanor Boardman, Conrad Nagel and Lew Cody. The story is of a jazz-mad flapper wife, lier humdrum husband and a sympathetic bachelor, who finally shows her the folly of her ways by telling her the story of David and BathSheba. This sequence makes a magnificent spectacle in natural colours, which alone is really worth seeing. Here is a tale of marriage in which happiness was held secure by the purse strings until the luxury-loving .wife, impatient of restraint, loosed them. Then came the storm in which a sheaf oi bills, an enraged husband, and an “understanding” friend whirled in cy-> clonic fury till a sudden shower of tears quaintly stilled the tempest. Those who want to know one reason ivhy divorce is a popular present-day sport should take a look at this vastly intriguing picture. A screen snapshot, a comedy, and a. gazette make up the supporting bill, which is considerably enhanced by the score of incidental music by the King’s Select Orchestra, under the direction of Mr A. H. Jerome.
