OLYMPIC HARRIERS

FIRST RUN OF SEASON. The first run of the Olympic Hat. riers for the season 1926 took place on Saturday from the Training College, Kelburn. Thirty members under the leadership of the club captain took part in the run. Being so early-in the season paper was dispensed with, 6nd it was left to the captain to pick out a trail. Amongst the pack many new faces were seen, and if the keen interest that was shown by the members is maintained throughout the season the club should have a very successful season and be well to the fore when the more serious part of the harrier season comes along. The whole pack was in fine fettle, and although so early in the season it was seen that the club had some new members who should be hard to beat for the places in the A teams of Hhe club, and the older members who wish, to remain in tho A teams will have to train hard to hold their positions. A run-in over the last few hundred yards Was held, and resulted in new members filling all the winning positions. The next Saturday’s run will be held from Island Bay, and all members are expected to turn up and make a success of the run.
