Following the failure of the jobcontrol methods adopted by the different unions in ihq maritime transport group, the unions met and 'decided that the tactics of the past must be dropped, and that a new set of regulations should be drawn up. This is expected to go a long way towards securing industrial peace in the maritime industry. It was also decided that no strike should bo declared off by any section of the transport griup unless the group had been called together for the purpose of discussing the issue, and that the same procedure should apply ' to calling a strike.
