WOMEN IN BUSINESS

Woman's invasion of the world of commerce is proceeding by leaps and bounds. About nine months ago there were only five women members of tne London Chamber of Commerce, and there are now 50. One of the most prominent of these is the Viscountess Rhondda, who ia a director of' over 40 companies. Citv men are so impressed bjr the progress made by their feminine rivals that many of them express the fear that women will, in the end, oust men altogether from the pre-eminent position they have enjoyed for so long. Women, they say, are nowadays so attractive, charming and omnrtly turned out that they have an unfair advantage. On the other hand, prominent business women say that they will never have any lasting advantage over men, because the spirit of "camaraderie," which is so essential in commercial circles, is not part of feminine nature.
