LORD SOMERS APPOINTED. " Reuter’s Telegram. LONDON, Maxell 23. The King has approved the appointment of Lord Somers as Governor of Victoria. Arthur Herbert Tennyson Somers Cocks, sixth Baron Somers, was born in 1887, educated at Charterhouse and New College, Oxford, served in the Great War," 1914-18, with distinction 1D.5.0., VI.C., Legion of Honour), retired from the army in 1922, and has been a Lord-in-\Yaitiug to the King since 1924. He was married in 1921, and has one daughter. He succeeds the Earl of Strodbroke.
