Training at Rand-wick, Wirdbag covered seven furlongs in lmin 27sec, equalling his own previous record, made in the spring. He carried 7.7, and had Bonnechose and Cloude as pacemakers. The half-mile took 4B2aec, and the six furlongs lmin 14sec. The gallop stimulated the interest in Windbag’s encounters with Pilliewinkie and the other cracks in the forthcoming Randwick ‘ meeting. Thu New Zealander, . Runivmcde, acquitted himself handsomely in a five furlongs trial, easily doing lmin ljsec.
