THUNDER IN WINTER
An- investigation into the subject of winter; thunderstorms in the British Isles during the three months January to March, 1925; is being repeated this ye While it was found, as a result Of last year's work, that there Were large areas free from storms during the period mentioned; no fewer than 46 days on Which thunder or lightning occurred Were reported in England and Wales. Scotland’s total for the three months was 27 days, and Ireland’s 28, The Bouth coast, and particularly the southern parts of Sussex and Surrey, appear to have been the areas in which there was most' winter thunder in England. The. central portion of the west coast Wad the worst sufferer in the case of'Scotland.
