PORT CHALMERS TO COMPLETE. The C. and D. Line advise that the steamer Port Chalmers leaves Wanganui to-night for Wellington and arrives here to-morrow to copiplete her Homeward loading. She is scheduled to clear Wellington at daybreak on Tuesday, March 16tn, for London, via Panama. NORFOLK FOR HOME. The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that the Federal steamer Norfolk will complete her Homeward loading at Wellington to-night, and is to sail at daybreak to-morrow for London, via Panama. TASMANIA COMING. Cable advice received by the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the steamer Tasmania left Sydney on Wednesday for Newcastle, where she bunkers before proceeding to Opua to commence! NEW YORK SAILINGS. The A. and A. Line advise the following projected sailings from Now York to New Zealand : The City of Melbourne has been substituted for the City of Durban, and is to sail on March 25th for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Portland. The City of Bombay is expected to sail on April Bth for Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington, Lyttelton und Dunedin. With cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin, the Trowyn is scheduled to clear New York on April 22th. CARGO FROM LIVERPOOL. An expected arrival at Auckland last evening from Liverpool was the Federal steamer Cumberland, with cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due at this port about March 20th. MANUKA DUB TO-DAY. The Union Company advise that the passenger steamer Manuka, from Melbourne, via southern ports, is due at Wellington to-day, and now sails at noon to-morrow for Melbourne direct. R.M.S. NIAGARA. Cable advice received bv the Union Company states that the R.M.S. Niagara left Sydney yesterday afternoon for Auckland. She is duo at Auckland on Monday morning and eails on Tuesday for. Vancouver, via Suva and Honolulu.

COASTAL MOVEMENTS. The Progress, due at Wellington today from Wanganui, sails later in the day for Lyttelton. The John returns here on Wednesday next from New Plymouth, via Pelorus Sound, and leaves the same day for Lyttelton. The Holmdale loads at Dunedin to-* morrow, thence Oamaru, Timaru, and Lyttelton, for Wellington and Wanganui. The Inaha, sailing to-day for Patea, returns to Wellington on Sunday,. . The Hawera leaves Wellington to-day for Patea, and is due back here on Sunday. The Kapiti, due here to-morrow from Wanganui, sails on Monday on the return trip. The Kapuni, sailing to-day for Patea, returns to Wellington on Sunday. The Inkula now leaves Auckland early this morning for Wellington, and arrives here on Sunday. PERSONAL. ' Mr R. Gardner, second engineer of the Kairanga, has relieved Mr W. C. Murray as second engineer of the Maori. Mr W. Findlayson, late acting-second engineer of the R.M.S. Niagajra, has resigned from the Union Company, and Mr A. N. Smith, of the Marama, has joined the Niagara. Mr H. R. Frith, late second engineer of the Maori, has joined the Otokia, relieving Mr H. B. Johnstone, who has been granted sick leave. Mr F. Steinmuller has rejoined the Maunganui as fourth engineer. BARDIC RENAMED HOHATIUS. Recently acquired by the Aberdeen Line, the cargo steamer Horatius arrived at Sydney from London last month. Before being taken over from the White Star Line this ship was known sb the Bardie, and had made many voyages to Australia. When she was acquired by the Aberdeen Line officers were transferred to the vessel from other ships of the company’s fleet. Captain W. J Wil- ' liams, who was last at Melbourne in charge of the Demosthenes, is in command. It is said that the Aberdeen Lino intends to take over two more cargo vessels for the Australian service, hut the names of these vessels are not yet known. On her recent trip the Horatius, which had on board a large cargo and was consequently low in the water, encountered heavy weather while crossing the Bay of Biscay. With the Nerbudda and the Bendigo, both on their way to Australia, she encountered some of the worst of the storm. She was forced to "heave to” for 18 hours, being unable to make any progress against the storm. When she was able to resume it was only at a speed of three knots. Water was shipped in large quantities, and the officers’ cabins were flooded. No damage, however,, was done to the ship. KAHIKA FOR NAPIER. The Union Company advise that the steamer Kahika now leaves Wellington at 11 a.m. to-day instead of to-morrow for Napier and Gisborne. She will receive cargo until 10.80 a.m. for both ports. MOERAKI FROM MELBOURNE. The Union Company advise that the passenger steamer Moeraki, which leaves Melbourne at 10 o'clock this morning for Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin, withdraws from the Now Zcaland-Mel-bourno service on ' arrival at Dunedin. She is due at Wellington on Wednesday next. WAIWERA SAILS TO-DAY. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company advise that the steamer Waiwera completed her loading at Auckland last night, and sails at daybreak thiß morning for New York. Boston and London, via Panama. GALLIC SAILS TO-DAY. Loaded with Dominion produce, the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s steamer Gallic leaves Wellington to-day for London, via Monte Video and Tenoriffe.
