CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING RANGES OPEN FOR PRACTICE. Arrangements are now complete for the animal fixture, which opens at Trentham on Tuesday jfext. Colonel F. B. Creswell is the executive officer in charge of the meeting. With his many years of experience, this popular officer is well qualified for the position. He will be assisted by a number of keen and efficient range officers, President W. G. Fellingham as secretary, and Captain G C. Felton statistical officer.

Entries are still coming in freely, and the competition promises to be exceedingly keen. _ Most of the crack shots of the Dominion have entered, and practically the whole of the best teams.

Next, week will decide the question of the champion shot and the champion team of New Zealand. In the meantime each district enthusiastically supports the claim of its own champions. The principal trophies to be competed for include the famous Ballinger Belt, Sir Logan Campbell Shield, District Challenge Shield, Dawson Shield, Petone Rifle Club Champion Aggregate Shield. Colonel Collins Memorial Grand Aggregate Cup, Simmonds Cup, Croxton Cup, Rifle Cup, B.S.A. Cup, Islington Cup, Club Coffee Oup, and O.A.C. Cup. The three ranges will be open for practice at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 15th. Fifteen targets will be available in tlie morning and twenty-five in the afternoon. The Collins Range will be reserved for 200 and 300 yards, the Somerville Range for 500 and 600 yards, and the Seddon Range for 800 and 900 yards. Visitors can therefore have a trial aver the whole course, a feature much availed of aat year.
