IN NEW ZEALAND POTATOES INCREASED DUTY DEMANDED Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. HOBART, March 10. Mr Bell, member of the House of Representatives,. speaking at Burnie, said that he had learned that an order for 3000 toms of New Zealand potatoes for Sydney in May would- cause a slump in the market, and reduce prices most seriously. He stated his intention of moving in Parliament for an increase in the duty against New Zealand potatoes from £1 per ton to £3 in the interests of the producers.
