Sunburn can easily he prevented with a little care and forethought. Liquin powder of the right shade dabbed on with the fingers and quickly wiped 'dry with a soft piece of linen will do wonders in protecting the face and chest if only it is applied before exposure to the hot sun.

If liquid powder is not available smear the face with the smallest quantity of vanishing cream, and powder lightly afterwards. Cold cream applied to face, neck, arras and chest before going out* on a windy day, does much to prevent the skin getting rough and tanned, especially if, after exposure, a little cooling complexion milk is dabbed on the face and other parts affected. This should remain on for a quarter of an hour before washing.
