THE POLICE COURT
VAGRANT SENT TO GAOL A SHORT LIST. A short list confronted Mr C. R. Orr-Walker, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court on Saturday morning. William Grdon, an elderly man, charged with vagrancy, was convicted and sentenced to six months’ imprisonment with hard labour. Further charged with the theft of a quantity of lead piping, valued at 7s 6d, Gordon was convicted and discharged. Kitty Stewart, previously convicted of drunkenness, for a similar offence was fined £l, in default three days’ imprisonment.
