PUBLIC OPINION
THE PRESS AND THE Y.M.C.A. (To the Editor, “N.Z. Times.”) Sir, —At the annual meeting of the above association, held on March Ist, a vote of thanks was passed as follows :—• ‘‘That a vote of thanks and appreciation be passed to the Press in view of the kindly assistance and good offices during the past year.” Allow me to say this motion was carried with acclamation, and the mover in his remarks laid emphasis upon the very sympathetic hearing which the Press had always extended to our association. He also pointed out how difficult it would be for an organisation such as ours to do the work that it should without this assistance, which undoubtedly the Press has given us. The writer can assure you that this fact is fully realised and very much appreciated by all those concerned. —-Yours, etc., J. PEARCE LUKE, President.
