CHURCH CONTROL THE FIRST REPORT. neuter's Telegram. (Received February 4, 11.30 p.m ) LONDON, Fcbruary 4. The first report of tho Church of England Council of Empire Settlement states that the council’s earliest efforts were directed towards the creation of organisations overseas, controlled by the Church in tho Dominions for the reception, the placing and after-care of newcomers. Tlie report says this has now been accomplished in Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa, and is in progress of formation in Canada. It dtclnics that requisition* have been issued on a monthly basis to 3355 individuals, and appeals have been made to parishes country-wid3 to secure suitable applicants.
