DECEMBER QUARTER CUSTOMS RECEIPTS UP PENSIONS COSTS GROWING The statement of receipts and expenditure of the Consolidated Fund for the December quarter shows the revenue as £10,893,662 (including £669,775, balance at the beginning of tho quarter). The figure for the corresponding quarter last year was £11,857,492. Ordinary revenue totalled £6,027,102, against £7,484,304 in the 1924 period. There was a substantial increase in Customs, and a considerable fall in stamp and death duties. The expenditure is inVon as £4,140,289. A year ago this item stood at £4,116,290. The permanent appropria-, tions are very little higher than formerly, while interest and amortization services are about £IOO.OOO less. The expenditure under special Acts has gone up by £122,000. Pensions alone increased this item by nearly £IOO,OOO, and superannuation" and endowment charges have grown.
