REVOLVERS A CURSE

MAGISTRATE’S COMMENT. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, January 28. “Revolvers are a curse, and it is a serious matter to carry them about,” said Mr J. W. Poynton, S.M., at the Police Court this morning, when George Joseph Marshall, who was recently sentenoed to five years’ imprisonment for attempting to rob the Newmarket branch of the Auckland Savings Bank, appeared on a charge of carrying a revolver without a license. “In order to mark the seriousness of the thing I will sentence Marshall to three months’ imprisonment. He is already serving a long sentence so the three months will be concurrent.”
