A resident of Auckland for 60 years, Mrs Alice McLeay, died on Saturday, in her 84th year. She was the widow of Mr William McLeay, formerly of I’onsonby. Mrs McLeay, who arrived in New Zealand in 1863, was in Wanganui during hostilities with the Maoris, and came to Auckland in 1865. She leaves a family of two sons, Messrs. W. and J. O. McLeay, and two daughters, Mrs J. Melican and Miss McLeay.
