At Burnside to-day there was an unusually big yarding of lambs on account of the opening of the export season, and consequently the cattle sale was late. Fat sheep prices dropped some shillings, while lambs, considering their excellent quality, were fully 2s cheaper than at last week's sale. ■ Bheej>—A small yarding of 1400. A big proportion were ewes of from medium to fair quality, and a few were extra good. The supply of prime wethers was comparatively small. The demand at the opening was quiet, and all classes of ewes eased a few shillings per head* Prime wethers w*ere selling at rates much on a parity with last week's. Exporters were, at times, taking light weight sheep, but the market cased further towards the end of the sale. Extra prime wethers made from 40s 3d to 43a; prime heavies from 36s to 395; light from 21s to 30s; prime ewes sold at from 27s to 28s 6d; mediums from 14s 6d to 20s. Lambs—A big yarding of about 3300 good quality animals. Three export buyers were operating, nnd bidding freely to their limits. Light primes were in favour, and extra heavy lambs sold up to 28s ‘6d. Prime medium weight from 26s to 27s Gd; medium from 23s to 245, Fat cattle—A big yarding of 346. The quality was fair, and in the entry was a bur sprinkling of medium cows nnd n 'moderate supply of prime bullocks. Prices lor prime beasts were little changed. Extra heavy prime bullocks brought to £2l 17s 6d; prime from £l6 to £l7 10s; lighter from £ll 10s to £l4 10s; cows realised from £8 10s to £11; and heifers from £7 15s to £lO 10s, Prices for prime ox beef were on a basis of 42s 6d to 44s per 1001 b: medium to 40s; prime heifers from 30s to 32s 6d; cows and light heifers, 22s 6d to 255. Store cattle—An entry of 203. The animals forward were chiefly of medium quality cows. A few prime steer 9 yarded were pnesed at auction. Prices generally were unchanged. Pigs—A yarding of 157 fats and a small number of.stores Fat pigs were a little easier, while the slips sold well. CUSTOMS REVENUE. The Customs revenue received at the port of Wellington yesterday aggregated £8147.
