Dwan Brothers, owners of Alabama, have lodged a protest on his running at Foxton, and have demanded an inquiry respecting it and his win yesterday at Pahiatua. The decision will he watched with interest, and it is possible the Racing Conference may take this matter into consideration and call for evidence in the usual way. Alabama in future will be trained by Mr Barnett. At a meeting of the council of the New Zealand Association of British Manufacturers and Agents the following 'were elected members of the association : Mr Sydney C. Hancock, 37, Courtenay place; Messrs Brown and Dureau, Ltd., JKoutn's Buildings, Featherston street, and Messrs E. J. Hyams, Ltd., 120, Wakefield street. It was decided to invite the Right Hon. the Prime Minister and the Hon. W. Ilownie Stewart to a complimentary luncheon to be tendered to them by this association early in February.
