DAY’S BAY CROWDS

PARKING PLACES WANTED QUESTION OF RESERVING TENNIS COURTS. The question of making more adequate provision for parking cars in Williams Park, Dav’s Bay, in order to ccpe with the rapidly increasing traffic, was referred to the Mayor, Mr C. J B. Norwood, yesterday, together with a further inquiry as to whether it would be possible to reserve some of tlio tennis courts at Day’s Bay', which belong to the City Council,, fen- the use of Wellington people arriving by tha fiist boat. A statement had been made to the effect that parties of Eastbourne residents booked up the courts so fully before the first boat arrived from Wei lington that city people had to wait a considerable time before they were able to get- a game. For a month past the traffic has been so heavy to this favourite senside resort that practically all available space has been in use for parking cars, and it is suggested that the time has arrived when the question of parking places for cars at Day’s Bay and Eastbourne should be properly niganised and mapped out by the respective authorities

The Mayor said that he could not make any statement on, the matter uutd some inquiries had been, made, hut he would roply as soon as he had the necessary information.
