FALSE PRETENCES
MAORI SENT TO GAOL. Per Press Association. HAMILTON, January 26. A full-blooded Maori, Henry Edward, was charged at the Police Court, Hamilton, to-day with obtaining £6 from Frank Benjamin Morley, of Te Aroha, by mears of false representation in regard to a cheque. Tho accused admitted his guilt end the Magistrate, taking into account the fact that accused had been in gaol for a fortnight awaiting the hearing, imposed a sentence of fourteen days’ imprisonment.
