WHISKY AS PRIZE The inclusion of two bottles of whisky and two bottles of wine in the Eriae list of a “draw” arranged by a larwen church cricket club has aroused some comment locally. It is pointed out that young people may not buy liquor in the ordinary way, but may purchase tickets in the draw and win the drink. When the vicar’s attention was drawn to the matter, he expressed surprise. He did not know what prises were offered, but as a life-long temperance advocate himself, and in view of the fact that there is a strong Band of Hope in connection with the church, he would take steps to have the liquor prizes withdrawn.
