Scales, ’ Ltd-, advise that they have chartered the new steamer Anglo-Indian, which is en route to Australia to load in New • Zealand during January and February. CHRISTMAS FERRY STEAMERS. The- Unioh Steam Ship Company announced yesterday that in order to provide additional opportunities for passengers to Lyttelton next week the new steamer Tamghine will leave Wellington at 8.15 a.m. on Christmas Day, making a daylight trip. She will reach LytteL ton early in the evening, and will return to Wellington immediately, after arrival in order to leave here on Boxing Day for Picton, its already announced. Thus as arrangements stand now there will be a daylight; and an evening trip from Wellington bn December 23rd, a -daylight and two evening tripe on December’ 24th, and a. daylight and an evening trip on December 25th. . In the allotmenta of berths on' the Tamahine ladies will have preference. MANUKA FROM MELBOURNE. KIA ORA RADIOS. According to a wireless message received by the' Shaw, Savill and Albion Company, the master of the steamer Kia Ora expects the vessel to reach Auckland at 8 a.m. to-morrow from Liverpool. The vessel is bringing cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Now Plymouth, and is due here about December 26th. THE CITY OF~CORINTH. The A. and A. Line advise that the steamer City , of Corinth leaves Wellington at noon to-day for Lyttelton, thence Dunedin and Burnie, to complete her discharge of New York cargo. SUTTON HALL COMPLETING. The steamer Sutton Hall arrived nt Bluff yesterday from Dunedin to complete her discharge of Now York cargo under .the auspices of tbo A. and A. Lino. lONIC FOR HOME. With passengers, mails and cargo, the White Star liner lonic is scheduled to leave Wellington at daybreak on Sunday, Decembor 20tb, for Southampton and London, via Panama.

MAIMOA’S PROGRAMME. The Shaw, Savili and Albion Company advise that the steamer Maimoa arrived at Port Chalmers yesterday from Wellington for Homeward loading. She afterwards proceeds to Tokomaru Bay, thence Gisborne, Napier, Timaru, Wellington •(January 20th to January 24th), and Lyttelton, to complete, and is scheduled to sail finally from Lyttelton on . January 28th for Loudon. MAHANA AT NAPIER. Now loading at Napier, the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Mahana leaves on Wednesday night for Gisborne, thence Wellington, to complete. She is due here on January Ist and sails finally on January 7th for London, via Panama. PAKEHA’S ITINERARY. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company advise that the steamer Pakeha will commence Homeward loading at Wellington on Monday, and after taking in part of her cargo here, will leave on December 26th for loading at Bluff, thence Port Chalmers, Timaru, Lyttelton and Waikokopu. She then returns to Wellington on January 16th to complete, and is scheduled to sail finally from here on January 20th for London, via Panama. MATATUA FOR AUCKLAND. After finishing her discharge of London cargo at Wellington, the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Matatua will proceed to Auckland, where she completes discharge and commences Homeward .loading. Advice received by Murray, Roberto and Company states that the American oil tanker Agwipond sailed from . San Luis, California, on November 23rd for Wellington. Although ni> radio message has been received yet from the vessel, she is expected to put in an appearance during the week-end: THE CANADIAN EXPLORER. To continue her discharge of Montreal cargo, the Canadian Government steamer Canadian Explorer is due at Wellington to-day from Auckland. She later proceeds to Lyttelton, thence Timaru and Dunedin, to complete discharge, and to commence loading for her return voyage. PORT BOWEN FOR NAPIER. To continue her loading programme the C. and D- Line steamer Port Bowen leaves Lyttelton to-morrow for, Napier, and afterwards' proceeds to Wellington, (December 25th ,to December 31st), and Auckland to complete; sailing finally from the latter port on January 6th for New York, Boston and London. The conversion of Mr Henry Ford’S yacht "Siulia". from steam to motor drive, and its lengthening, have been completed, and she is in service. The .following resnlts relating to the operation of a steamer and a motor vessel, the route being from the Pacific Coast of America to the East, has been received. The motor ship in question'is named “Isle de Java,” fitted with MeIntosh and Seymour Diesel machinery; and the steamer Was the ‘‘OaKiVood"; those are sister chips apart from the Cfigmes., •.Both Vessels left the Pacific Coast at; about the same time, and covered the same route, touching at Honolulu and Singapore.
