PORT NICHOLSON LADIES’ CLUB ! PRESENTATION OF PRIZES. The final shoot and presentation of prizes of the . abbve clu-h took place at the Harbour Board range Inst week* when office-bearers of* the« club and members ,of the Harbour Board Miniature Rifle Club were entertained by the Indies. Apologies, for absence were received* from Messrs A. G» Barnett, h. Caughlev. E. B. Baton, and J. Murphy. Whilst shooting was in progress, games, .etc., were indulged in in the social room. A friendly shoot took place between those' present, teams consisting of twelve a-sidc. The match resulted in a winfor the ladies by a small margin. Mr bfmt, •who obtained the highest score among the gentlemen* was presented wqth a suitaßie trophv. Mr Satherley and Mr Barrington tied .for the "Christmas Box, and in the shoot oB Mr Satherley proved the lucky winner. When the snooting concluded the prize-giving took place, Mrs S. Duncan, Miss Harper’s trophy. ’ • . , On behalf of the members of the club Miss Harper (club captain) presented Mrs Waters with a bouquet of flowers. A pleasant. little incident then took place m the form of a presentation of a silver cake basket to Miss M. Budd on the occasion of her approaching marriage. Miss Harper, in.making the preeentation, pain tribute to Miss Budd s good shooting and her valuable assistance to the club and, on behalf of the members, wished her every happiness and prosperity for the future. Cheers were heartily given, and Mr C. Prince suitably respondeo on Miss Biidd’s behalf. ' Miss Harper then presented the coaches, t Messrs Prince and Otton, with a small gift feach as a token ,of esteem and appreciation of the valuable eerview. rendered by them to/the * club. A datfity Atipper was providea by the ladies, and Mr Benton, on-behalf ot the Harbour Board Club, thanked the ladies for ..their hospitality, and wished „ the club every success during the coining season, Mi6s Harper suitably replied, wishing-the club tne compliments of the season, and calling for three cheers for 'Mr and .Mrs Waters, which were lustily given, together with musical honours. Dancing was then indulged in until a late hour, when a very enjoyable evening l came to a close.
