THE SAILORS’ FRIEND SOCIETY
* Yet another of the merry evenings was arranged by the Sailors’ briend Society for our seafarers on Tuesday when Miss Harbroe was hostess. She brought a strong party which drew forth much applause. The performers were Mrs Stanlnke, the Misses I. Stanton, and Harbroe, and Messrs Laing, Lunn. Irving, Gough, Campbell. G. Smith. Mrs Staulabe and Miss Harbroe were at the piano “Watched” was the title of Mr J Moore’s temperance chat. Pledge? followed.
The competitions went with n vnn that was refreshing. The prizes came Prom the hostess and Miss Mint©, Marlborough, nnd went to the \\aimoa, lonic, Tekoa.
