A WARNING TO SHOPKEEPERS NOVEL METHOD OF WORKING. The Christmas season having brought the usual burglaries with it also shows evidence, of. shop-lifters being at work. A shopkeeper in Molesworth street states that he has had a fountain pen and a kiddies’ bucket, full of sweets, and later another fountain pen stolen from his counter. The amazing part of it was that he was in the shop while the goods were lifted. The theory that he puts forward regarding the method by which tho goods are stolen is this: A person comes into the shop accompanied by a small child. The adult prices several articles, and then sends the child to the other ena of the counter to_ buy what he wants.
