DAY NURSERY

The monthly meeting of the Citizens’ Day Nursery -was held on Monday afternoon, Lady Luke presiding. There were present: Mesdames Frazer, Reid, J. Levy, Leicester, J. Myers, Townsend, Murphy, Clark, W. Luke, A. Grey, and Miss 'Moss. The matron reported .a busy month; several mothers, while travelling, had made, use of the nursery while awaitingfloats or trains, finding’much comfort in the convenience of the. nursery. The usual Christmas party for the children has been arranged for December 17th, and the committee will be very pleased to welcome subscribers and friends inter- j ested in the work to join in the party. ! Mrs John Myers, who has been _ a member of the committee since the in- j ception of the nursery, was granted twelve months’ leave of absence to visit England. At the close of the meeting, Mrs Myers was entertained to afternoon tea by the committee, when good wishes for a pleasant voyage were conveyed to her by the president and others. On behalf of the , little ones . who are the dailyj charges at the nursery, a •small girl presented her with a posy of flowers and thanked her for her kindness to the children. Mrs Myers also received a bouquet of roses from the committee.
