The Australian and New Zealand Shipping Register for this year shows the steady rise in the number of steamers on the Australian, New Zealand and Fiji register. In 1921 there were 1881 sailing vessels, with a net tonnage of 127,779 tons, while in June last there were 1813 sailing vessels, with a tonnage of 119,895 tons. In 1921 there were 1179 steamers, with a tonnage of 386,367 tons, and in June there were 1213 steamers, with a pet tonnage of 455;199 tons.

PHYSA WITH OIL. ' The Physa, with oil from Singapore, arrived at Wellington yesterday from Napier to discharge under the auspices of Gollin and Co.

MASANA IN THE SOUTH. The Shaw, Sayill liner Mah ana leaves Port Chalmers on Saturday for Lyttelton, Gisborne, Napier and Wellington to load for London. The Federal S.N, Company report that the Middlesex, from Liverpool, is expected in port from Auckland on Friday. Her loading programme, is not yet announced. PORT HOBART. TREMATON’S MOVEMENTS. The Trematon. which has been awaiting orders in the stream, sailed yesterday for Westport to bunker. From Westport the vessel proceeds to Lyttelton to commence loading for Dunkirk, Hull, London, and Continental ports, under the agency of G. H. Scales and Co„ Ltd.

WORD FROM CANADIAN EXPLORE®. Tho lpcal office of the Canadian Government Merchant Marine have received advice from the Canadian Explorer stating that she should reach Auckland from Montreal bn Saturday.
