ILLEGAL SALE OF LIQUOR
OFFENDER SENT TO GAOL k DEFENCE NOT BELIEVED. Per Press Association, v -ASHBfJRrTON, Nov. 2f S Archibald John Tempi eman was sentenced to three months’ hard labour for selling liquor. The evidence showed .that* a man offered the police to help make a cnle from Tempieman. fie was given a marked pound note and he got Tempieman out of his house when the police found a bottle of whisky and the note on him. His defence was that the pound wafl for towing a disabled car and thfl whisky was to have a epot after the job was completed. The Magistrate, Mr Mosley, said he . had met the accused before when he received a warning. He did not believe the accused or his wife’s evidence, i Coum-el intimated that an appeal was probable.
