EVENING ATHLETICS

SUCCESSFUL MEETING A sports meeting was conducted at Athletic Park under the joint auspices of the Brooklyn and Olympic Clubs. Ther© wag a fair attendance. In the sprint raoes the wind was with the competitors, with the result that fast times were recorded. Three heats had to be run off in the 120 yards handicap, J. T. Fleming winning the final in 12sec. I*. A. Tracy *as unable to-get thi v ough in the finish. C. Flett rode a good race from scratch in the two miles cycle 'handicap to win by a wheel from ft. ft. Robinson, who was also on the scratch mark. F. B. Silver won the three miles handicap from scratch, by about 190 yards. From scratch, Miss Swinburne won the first heat of the 100 yards ladies* 'handicap in 12 l-ssec, and was third in the filial, which was don© in 11 4-ssec. The 440 yards handicap produced a great race. The New Zealand champion, W. Kvle, scratch man, went through the other competitor© in fine style, and breasted the ta'pe first by four and a half yards.
