W, Nosworthy, referring to the 5} per cent. loan now being raised for State Advances, etc., said the applications were coming in satisfactorily, and there was every prospect that the amount required would' be obtained. Offers to subscribe substantial sums had been received from overseas investors, §ome of which had been accepted. As these investors are shrewd judges of security, this could be taken as a good indication of the Dominion’s high credit and financial status. He added that our last London loan, rais. ed in May, was now quoted on the London market at a premium of 7s 6d.
