The “Montreal Gazette” prints a Quebec item saying that there will be a session of the House of Commons ■within three months, according to a message from Mr Ernest Lapointe, the Minister of Justice. The Prime Minister, Mr Mackenzie King, and the Liberal Government will not Tesign office. Tile standing of the political parties to-night is: Conservatives 116 /Liberals ~ 100 Progressives 23 Labour 2 Independent 1 Doubtful 3 The .Liberals can retain office only with the support of a section ‘of the; Progressives, the Labour, and the Independent members. ' Cabinet will meet in Ottawa on Monday, after which there may be an announcement by the Prime Minister.
