WAR FOR MOSUL?
TURKS SAID TO BE MOBILISING CLOSING THE DARDANELLES REPORT FROM BULGARIA By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Published in “The ’rimes.” (Received September 24, 7.40 p.m.) LONDON, September 23. Messages from Sofia report that Turkey is calling up reserves and closing the Dardanelles, owing to the Geneva Conference’s decision regarding Mosul, The League of Nations unexpectedly decided to refer the Mosul dispute to the International Court of Justice. Otherwise it is believed the Council’s decision would have been in Britain’s favour.
The British delegation to the League of Nations Assembly has drawn the attention of the Council of the League to the attitude of Turkey, who is apparently renewing the policy of the systematic removal of all Christian populations from territory between the line claimed by Britain and the socalled ‘‘Brussels” line which Britain and Turkey last year mutually promised to respect.
